We use Wii fit as some P.E. on rainy days. :) It's a lot of fun to cheer each other on.
Love when they try the yoga
Racing
Some play dough time
Starfall is a big hit with Timmy. He reads and enjoys it without even knowing it.
We talked about what pumpkins need to grow, then each of us painted something pumpkins need to grow on our pumpkin. :)
Here are Evangeline's leaves
Caleb's sunshine
Timothy's water
Some color match game time with big sis
We are using the Prairie Primer this year and so is Evangeline's best friend. They had a sleepover and studied sunshine and it's effects. Then they sewed ribbons on sun bonnets I had sewn the week before.

Weekly Wrap up
We took a week off of the normal routine to do some review.
Focusing on counting by 10's with my first grader and the numbers and letters he still gets confused occasionally.
This was a fun scavenger hunt we started the week off with. It was a big hit with all 4 kids. :)
They looked for whatever number/letter I called out.
We did alot of counting by 10 games online, coloring number charts, ect...
But this game was the biggest hit. WE made a toy store and everything was priced in 10's. Timmy had a bag of dimes to buy items with.
Here is my Pre-Ker with his lapbook we made this week. It was Are you my Mother and it was a huge hit.
We traced everyones hand and made a stuffed turkey for each of us.
We also baked PB/oatmeal cookies. Yummy
Stuffing the hands w/ batting
The finished family
To end the week we took a trip to the pumpkin patch

Turkey Stuffies
Totally going to try and sew these super cute Hand Turkey Stuffies for Thanksgiving Decor this week.
We don't really do Halloween in this house so I am skipping straight to Thanksgiving decor and gifts.
Our first year in the new house and I want to really make it special and help the kids remember to truely be thankful for everything God has done and is doing for us. :)
I will be sewing projects off and on and will do my best to post the results.
Here is another one we may try today as well.

Friday afternoon lunch. We decided to make mini burgers.
Here Timmy is cutting out mini buns from bread with a cup. :)
Here Evangeline is cutting topping. Mini slices of cheese and cherry tomato sliced
The mini burger bar we set up. Yummmmm
We finally have a GI JOE room for our boys. Something my hubby has been waiting for since we had a boy. They loveeeeee it and Timmy likes to sit on his bed and just look around at his room.
(he is pretending to sleep here just for the pic)
Picked up a Draw Write Now book from the library after Abbie finally showed me where they were. :) Timmy loves them and here is his first masterpiece. Notice he cut his tree top out to be a heart.

Grandmas Living Room
Evangeline wrote a description of Grandmas Living room in school. :)
Grandmas living room
My Grandmas living room is big.
She has a lot of fancy decorations.
I like to read her books.
Sometimes we spend the night at her house.
She keeps her house nice and tidy.
That's my Grandmas house.
Too cute love how she has to mention reading in everything she does. :) Oh and love how her organized mind appreciates Grandmas tidyness.

Monday Monday
Timmy in deep thought on his study blanket he laid out for himself.
Evangeline in her room, her favorite place to go when the boys get too loud.
School is in full swing and so far everything is going great. Not to say everyone is perfectly happy %100 of the time. :) I am still trying to figure out exactly the best way to teach and communicate with each of my children but I feel that is a life long goal and not something I will accomplish overnight.
So just for your perusal I am going to give you the list of our current curriculum. This will most likely be added to here and there as the need arises throughout the year.
E - 3rd grade
The Prairie Primer - A Year long unit study of The Little House on the Prairie series.
This pretty much covers, Literature, History, and Bible, with alot of life skills mixed in as well as some science and more.
Easy Grammar - So far just that a simply laid out and well developed Grammar program. It's only been 2 weeks but so far I am a big fan. We are using Easy Grammar 3 and the Daily Grams as well.
Horizons Math 3 - Colorful and effective. Nice to have the teachers guide for extra ideas but probably not %100 needed at lower grades. Although I have been using mine. :)
Apologia science -
Land animals of the sixth day
I am loving this science book so far and all the kids are listening together. Except Haven he mostly wanders around.
T - 1st Grade
Horizons Math 1
This has been a bit of a challenge for Timmy, really just because he didn't do a lot of Math in Kindy. Yet he is picking it up fast with just a little extra teaching time from me. He is very hands on and active so we have to use manipulatives more than Evangeline does.
Explode the code -
Really fun for Timmy he enjoys this and we save it for last often just to get him through some of his less enjoyed stuff.
We also do wall calendar and weather chart
Other than this everything else is varied and done as we see the need. I am sure I will get some more stuff set in stone as the year progresses but I am always a little spastic so I am sure our activities will vary occasionally. :)

Taking it easy
So we are slowly starting some homeschooling. This morning we started what I hope will stick all year and took a nice Monday morning family walk. Then it was leapfrog letter factory time. (I did say taking it easy) I am not planning on starting there book work until next week but want to get them used to the idea of school and get an idea of how it's going to work with little ones and big ones all together.
Simple goals for this week are to read with each child each day, have them start there daily journaling, make play dough, and get the house cleaned up enough that next week will flow easily.
As soon as possible I want to get the laundry room and hallway painted so I can hang up our calendar, maps, corkboard, ect....
Okay now I am off to clean and supervise while trying to find my lost camera battery charger.

Strangeness and ackwardness
This inbetween time I seem to find myself in is leaving me a bit befuddled. It's as if summer has ended and somehow I missed most of it yet Fall still hasn't arrived. I am no longer in a house I am trying to sell yet can't seem to motivate myself to start making this one my own.
I want to, I really do yet I sit. I should be starting school on Monday but I may just move that back a week or two as well. Hopefully prayer and delving into the Word will fill my soul and help me past this bump in the road. I know the Lord can remove my weariness and give me Joy for the day to day again. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.

Wait where did summer go?
So life is busy and far to fast moving. We are now officially in our new home and mostly unpacked with alot of new projects to conquer. We also went to California and Disney for a week and made some lifelong memories with our little ones. I can't believe summer is coming to an end and the school year is starting. I still need to figure out some sort of a school schedule before starting next week but at least I have most of the curriculum already. So if need be I can fudge the schedule until we figure out what works. My Grandmother passed away yesterday. Leaving me feeling strange and sad. She was my last living Grandparent and I can't really put into words how I am feeling right now. Maybe regretful is the word.
We also picked up a van finally. A toyota sienna which I am loving. I also love how great God is. He has provided everything we need and so much more through this whole house sale. Maybe not all in our timing but he knows so much better.

So we took a trip up to Eugene to get Caleb a Build a Bear for his Birthday from Grandma Ardel and Grandpa Rick. After that we went to Chuck E Cheese.
Fun was had by all.
We also found 2 really nice used twin captains beds up at St Vincents so we had a tight fit on the way home but now all my children will have beds once we get into the new house.
